About Us
In the heart of Europe’s highest active volcano
First, there is Her.
Here we call her a Muntagna.
The Mammuzza.
Mount Etna is not a backdrop. She is a living presence — breathing, shifting, transforming.
Those who grow up at her feet know this: you don’t “visit” Etna. You enter into relationship with her.
Into Etna was born from that understanding.
Gino Moschetto
Founder | Certified Volcano Guide, Naturalistic Guide & MTB Instructor
Before founding Into Etna, Gino was already walking.
Across countries. Across languages. Across landscapes that demanded presence.
He left home without speaking English and learned by immersion — working, traveling, sleeping in a van in Australia, crossing borders without certainty. He stood on volcanoes across four continents, drawn again and again to places where the earth reveals its force. He sought wildlife in untouched jungles, trained balance on slacklines, climbed rock faces, sat in meditation, and played music at sunset facing the ocean.
He wasn’t searching for adventure. He was searching for that subtle shift — the moment when the noise quiets and you feel aligned with something larger than yourself.
Eventually, he understood something.
The energy he kept following around the world was waiting for him at home.
Etna was not a landscape. She was a call.
And Into Etna was born from the desire to share that encounter — not as something to observe, but as something to be experienced.
Ninni Moschetto
Co-Founder | Operations & Strategic Development
If Gino carries the search, Ninni carries the foundation.
An entrepreneur who developed businesses in Tenerife, Switzerland and France, he knows how to transform vision into structure. Adaptive, intuitive and pragmatic, he builds with long-term thinking and operational clarity.
His love for speed began early — racing his bicycle down the stairs of Trecastagni’s main church at five years old. Adrenaline, precision, courage. When Gino returned with a vision, Ninni recognized its potential.
Together, they created something that holds both freedom and responsibility.
Together, they established Into Etna as a structured and values-driven outdoor company — shaped by both Belgian and Sicilian heritage, rooted in experience and guided by long-term vision — that today supports a wider team united by the same deep respect for Mount Etna — the Mammuzza.
Guiding Standards & Technical Expertise
Into Etna operates with certified volcano and naturalistic guides, as well as qualified MTB instructors, combining technical competence, safety standards and deep local knowledge of Mount Etna.
Every route is carefully assessed according to terrain, weather and volcanic conditions. Small group management, clear safety protocols and continuous field awareness are integral to how we guide.
Professionalism is not separate from experience — it is what allows exploration to unfold with confidence and trust.

Headquarters & Meeting Point
Intoetna is based in Trecastagni (586 meters above sea level), on the southern slopes of Mount Etna. Our headquarters are located in Piazza Sant’Alfio, the town’s main square — a clear reference point for coordination and guest support.
Most of our experiences begin at Rifugio Sapienza (1,900 m), the primary gateway to Mount Etna. Our Intoetna Meeting Point is located within one of the main central parking areas — directly where Etna tours depart.
Rifugio Sapienza offers extensive parking, restaurants, cafés and essential facilities, providing a practical and comfortable starting environment. Here we welcome you, complete equipment checks, finalize safety briefings and prepare for the ascent into the volcanic landscape.
Detailed meeting instructions and precise directions are provided after booking to ensure a seamless arrival.
