Ascent to Etna’s active summit craters
A Unique Experience on Top of the Volcano
Description:
Join us for an unforgettable adventure to the summit craters of Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. After a safety briefing, we’ll take the cable car up to 2,500 meters and then transfer by 4×4 vehicle to 2,850 meters. From there, we begin our trekking journey across lunar landscapes and recent lava flows to reach Bocca Nuova Crater (3250 m)— one of Etna’s most awe-inspiring formations.
We’ll then proceed to La Voragine, the heart of the central crater. With clear weather, you may enjoy breathtaking views of the Aeolian Islands and much of eastern Sicily. The descent will take us down ash and scoria slopes, passing by the 2002 eruption craters and offering spectacular views over the Valle del Bove.
